What We Believe

We believe the Scriptures to be God’s own words expressing His complete revelation to Man with regards to His plans and purposes, all of which is accomplished through Jesus the Christ (II Tim. 3:16; Col. 1:16-20; John 1:1-3)*.

In order to fully comprehend the scope of the revelation within the Word it is necessary to incorporate the whole Bible, both the Old and New Testaments (Rom. 1:2; Heb. 1:1-2; Rom. 15:4; Amos 3:7)*.

The Scriptures are complete, without error or contradiction and are the absolute truth (II Tim. 3:16; John 1:1-14; John 14:6)*.

However, English translations today are many times fraught with error so we believe that it is necessary to study the Scriptures as a whole – for Scripture is its own commentary and its own interpreter – as well as use applicable Bible study tools. It is essential to study the original languages of Scripture as much as possible (I Cor. 2:12-13)*.

We believe that God is a Trinity, consisting of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit (John 1:1-14; Is. 9:6; John 10:30)*.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is God’s literal Son, born of a virgin (Is. 7:14; II Sam. 7:14; Luke 22:70)*.

All things were made by Jesus and for Jesus (Col. 1:16).

Jesus the Christ was born to be King (Matt. 2:2; Rev. 19:16), died as the sacrifice for sin (I Cor. 5:7; Rom. 5:10), was raised from the dead on the third day (I Cor. 15:4) and presently sits at the right hand of the Father (Heb. 1:3, 13).*

Jesus’ death offers salvation for all who believe in Him (Acts 16:30-31; Acts 15:7-11)*.

For everyone who has put faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the Cross, He currently ministers on their behalf as High Priest, at the Father’s right hand, offering a cleansing for sins (Heb. 3:1; Heb. 8:1-2; Heb. 9:11-14; I John 1:7-9)*.

Jesus is not currently ruling His Kingdom nor is He currently exercising His role as King. He will return again one day, at which time His Kingdom will be instituted and will last for 1,000 years.  For this we anxiously await (John 18:36; Rev. 11:15; Heb. 9:28; Matt. 19:28; Rev. 20:4-6; Gen. 2:1-3; II Pet. 3:8; Heb. 4:9).*

During the interim it is extremely important for mankind to come to the full knowledge of salvation through Jesus Christ (I Thess. 5:1-11; II Tim. 3:14-17).  Salvation is presented in many different ways in Scripture and we believe that man’s initial faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross results in a salvation from past sins and a justification that cannot be lost or given away (Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 11:29).*

From this point, every Christian has the responsibility to work out their salvation through Jesus Christ by faithful obedience to the Lord, confessing sins, and being washed by the blood of Christ (Phil. 2:12-13; I John 1:7-9; Heb. 3:6; II Tim. 2:11-13; Matt. 25:14-30; Luke 16:11-12).  This process of sanctification will result in one’s faith being brought to its goal, the receiving of the salvation of the soul (I Pet. 1:3-9; Acts 26:18; Heb. 10:39; James 1:21-22; James 2:20-24).*

It is the Christian’s choice how he or she lives their life during this time; he or she can choose a life of faithful obedience according to the commands of Christ as presented in His Word (through the in-working of the Holy Spirit, which must include repentance and confession), or he or she can choose to live a life of selfish behaviors, guided by their own wants and desires (Rom. 8:5-14; Rom. 6:11-13; Deut. 30:15-20).*

We believe that every Christian will be judged when Jesus comes back, and this judgment will be according to how they lived their life as a Christian (II Cor. 5:10; Rom. 14:10-12; Ecc. 12:13-14)*.

The faithful Christian will receive the reward of the inheritance of the kingdom; the unfaithful will not (I Cor. 6:9-10; Gal. 5:16-21; Matt. 25:1-13, 14-30)*.

The faithful Christian will rule and reign with Christ as His Bride in the 1,000-year literal Kingdom; the unfaithful Christian will not (Eph. 5:25-32; Rev. 19:7)*.

With this in view, it is absolutely essential that we seek His Kingdom first and His righteousness (Matt. 6:33; I John 1:7-9; John 13:8)*.

We believe that it is necessary for the members of the body of Christ to fellowship together (Heb. 10:25), study the Scriptures together, and pray together (I Thess. 5:16-23)). It is through this manifestation of Christ’s love with one another and to one another that we can all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ (Eph. 4:1-6, 11-32).*

And as a result of this knitting together of the body we are no longer to be children, carried about by every wind of doctrine. We are commanded to grow up in all aspects into Christ, who is the head of the church (Ephesians 4:11-16; Heb. 5:12-14; Heb. 6:1-3)*.
